Elegant Georgian House, build in 1790

Ideal venue for high class events, meetings and conferences
The Georgian House has been carefully refurbished.  We will be hosting Anglo Japanese cultural events time to time.  The Ground floor rooms are available for hire for members.

The Brewery

The UK’s first Japanese owned Sake Brewery
Dojima Sake Brewery is open for tours and guided tastings by appointment only. The first of its kind to be built in the UK, this stunning brewery is set in the picturesque grounds of the Fordham Abbey estate. Come for a truly unique experience which combines English heritage with Japanese culture and delicious, hand crafted sake.)

The work to build the Brewery started in Autumn 2016 and completed in May 2018.

The Brewery & visitor Centre is designed by KPT Architects in Saffron Walden.
The Contractor is Patrick Doyle of Snailwell near Newmarket.

The Jichinsai Ceremony was held on 28th October 2016 to purify the site for the Brewery, and we prayed for the the safety of all the people involved in the construction.  The Ceremony was conducted by the Japanese priests.    pictures of the event >>

The Cambridge Cellar

Members bottles of Sake, called ‘Cambridge’ are stored in this cellar to mature for minimum of 3 years.
